Summer’s Last Splash, Got to Lake It! 🙂
We recently went on a family trip to South Lake Tahoe during Labor Day Weekend. It was so beautful! Now, I am from Northern California, so I have been to Lake Tahoe before but it has been a long time. I grew up near the mountains and the beach, and love it very much. I used to go to Tahoe for snowboard trips but have never really been there during the summer. Lake Tahoe is majestic. The trees, the fresh air, the smell of the pines and firewood burning, the crystal clear blue lake, and the tall mountains surrounding you, there is nothing like it. My dad rented a Homeaway that we all stayed at. It was a beautiful log house in the mountains. We spent our first day gambling and riding scooters around town and along the lake. The Nevada State Line is right there in town. In the winter there is a ski resort right there where you can ski the California side or the Nevada side, its pretty cool. There are a few major casinos where the state line is. We had a lot of fun playing poker at Harveys. On our second day I convinced Jonathan and Jeremy to go parasailing with me at Ski Run Marina. This has been something on my bucket list. We had a choice of going 100 ft up, 250 ft up or 500 ft. up. We went 500 ft of course. It was crazy and so much fun with such a beautiful view. We also had the best gelato right next to the Marina. Coffee and Chocolate, my favorite 🙂 On our third day Jeremy and I went on a 6 mile hike at Emerald State Park around the Rubicon Trail. The most beautiful hike I have ever been on. You drive up this mountain to the vista point and can either take trails to hike down to the main trail around the lake which is what we did or you can drive further down to access the trail from the bottom, I recommend this as it was a bit hard climbing back up after our long hike but I did feel like I got a major work out in. After our hike we took the Heavenly MTN. Gondola Ride to the top of the mountain. It was a short trip but we did so much in that time and had so much fun. It was so peaceful and rejuvenating. Definitely one of my favorite places I have ever visited.
